About the event
This is an outdoor performance. In case of inclement weather it will be held in the Annex gymnasium. Please bring a chair for outdoor/indoor seating and your dancing shoes! Food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed.
Candida Rose Baptista is a second-generation Cape Verdean American from New Bedford, Massachusetts, who is a singer, songwriter, and cultural educator. She has created a new music style called "KabuJazz" that blends Cape Verdean and American influences. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth with a music degree, and has a master's degree in transnational, cultural, and community studies. In addition to performing with various musical groups, she sings for nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and adult day care centers. Her unique voice combines jazz, R&B, gospel, and international elements, captivating and stirring her audiences.
