​​Friends of Westport Library Annual Book Sale Fundraiser
FOWL Members Only Night: A special preview night for members is Friday, September 11th from 5:30-8 p.m. Memberships may be purchased at the door, $20/individual and $25/family. Take a first look at all of the wonderful titles for all ages.
Annual Book Sale, Saturday, September 12th – Saturday, September 19th. Have fun choosing from over thousands of books, DVDs, music CDs, books on CD, and record albums. The sale ends on September 19th with Bag of Books Day, from 9 to 5 p.m. Fill a bag, provided at the door, for only $5 per bag.
There are 23 well-stocked categories, with large selections in Fiction, History, Biography, Cookbooks, Children’s books and Coffee Table books including a variety of art and photography books. Children’s books are $0.50, all other books, YA and adult paperbacks and hardcovers are $3.00. A selection of specially-priced books, choice and rare books, are displayed including autographed and art and antique offerings.
Visit our book sale during library hours throughout the week as titles are added to the book tables. There’s something for everyone.
Monday and Thursday 11-8
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 9-5
All proceeds are used to primarily support the Library book budget and special programs.

Collection of donated books begins April 1st and continues through September 5th for FOWL’s Summer Paperback Book Sale and the Annual Book Sale in September. Drop off GENTLY used books, DVDs, music CDs, audiobooks on CD and LP albums in saleable condition. Place your donations in the bin in the Library lobby during Library hours.

Keep in mind the following items are NOT ACCEPTABLE:
*Moldy, damaged, badly stained, or written in books
*CDs and DVDs with no covers. No copies.
*Textbooks (e.g. law books, business, college texts)
*Encyclopedias, thesauruses, dictionaries
*Outdated manuals (e.g. computer, business, medical)
*VHS tapes
*Cassettes
*Magazines
*Travel guide books older than 2023
*Children’s coloring books and school workbooks
If you have a large donation (many boxes) to drop off, the Friends can arrange a time to assist you at the Library.
The book sales are a major fundraiser for Library services. We greatly appreciate your support.
