Take a walk in Orange County, California, and you'll come across one of 15 custom-painted Little Free Libraries installed by Dynamite Book Club, a youth service project dedicated to promoting literacy and building community.
The group was recognized in May with a Little Free Library Todd H. Bol Award, an annual honor given to those who embody the nonprofit’s “mission to build community, inspire readers, and expand book access for all.”
The Dynamite Book Club was launched in 2020 by four high school students. Their initial goal was to address the lack of library access in Santa Ana during the pandemic. Since then, it's expanded its purpose by partnering with other local nonprofits to give teens a chance to work and volunteer in their communities.
