It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished FOWL board member, Carol Vidal. Carol was not just a member of the board; she was a vital force within our organization, serving as the dedicated editor of the FOWL newsletters. In addition to her editorial contributions, Carol played a crucial role in the success of our annual book sales, which have become a beloved tradition in Westport. Her organizational skills and passion for literature helped to create an inviting atmosphere that encouraged participation from all corners of the community. Carol worked tirelessly alongside other board members and volunteers, ensuring that every sale was a resounding success.
Beyond her tangible contributions to the Westport Library, Carol was a beacon of positivity and inspiration. She selflessly gave her time and talents for the betterment of the Westport Library and the entire Westport community, fostering a sense of camaraderie and support among her peers. Her warm spirit and infectious enthusiasm left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. As we reflect on her remarkable life and the many ways she enriched our community, we cannot help but feel a profound sense of loss. Carol will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched and the many contributions she made to our beloved library and community. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends during this difficult time, and we invite everyone to join us in celebrating the extraordinary life of Carol Vidal, a true champion of literature and community spirit.
