The book selection for the October meeting of the Westport Library Book Club is Horse. Pulitzer winner Geraldine Brooks’ latest book is a sweeping tale that uses the true story of a famous 19th-century racehorse to explore the roots and legacy of enslavement.
The Westport Library Book Club meets in the Manton Community Room at 10:30 a.m. on the second Friday of each month. It’s a wonderful assemblage of people from several local communities. Selections are chosen on the recommendation of members. Selections range from historical fiction to classics to non-fiction. The conversations are lively and enjoyable. It’s a great way to meet people.
