BBC Culture has polled hundreds of books experts from various countries worldwide in order to create a list of the greatest children's books ever.
Given recent news headlines about the growing movement in the U.S. toward banning children's books, the timing of this release by BBC Culture seems appropriate in acknowledging children's literature and the authors who create them.
According to the BBC Culture article, "In total, 1050 different books were voted for by 177 experts – critics, authors and publishing figures – who came from 56 countries. Of these voters, 133 were female, 41 were male and three preferred not to say. Each voter listed their 10 greatest children's books, which were scored and ranked to produce the top 100."
